We are confined. Working from home. And I am now enjoying my garden daily, at least in the morning and in the evening. I can see the change in the air as I watch Beirut, which seems far and is in fact pretty near: the horrible smog brownish clouds are not there anymore. Birds come chirping on my bedroom window in the morning and sometimes in the evening too. Nature seems peaceful and maybe this serenity and the ensuing silence can scatter away from the dystopian concerns of a worrisome Orwellian future, in which societies have been conditioned to be tyrannized by their respective governments. As Howard Zinn described it "historically, the most terrible things; war, genocide, and slavery, have resulted not from disobedience, but from obedience"... Words to ponder upon.
