The essence of science is to analyze and understand. It is by definition rigorous yet flexible because our limited knowledge is continually expanding. This explains why nothing scientific should ever be set in stone. And that the greatest theories that would have been applied for decades or centuries could end up being refuted. This is how science advances. By always questioning what it knows and what it perceives. Humankind probably started in a state of blissful ignorance, not mastering much. With time, humans progressed and started trying to make sense of everything around them. That's what the different disciplines of science were created for: a systematic approach to describe and clarify nature, then mathematics, astronomy, and medicine. Remember, it was all supposed to serve the well-being of the human race.
In recent years, it has become clearer that science and technology are being used to control humankind more than make our lives better. With information more accessible to just about anyone, each one of us can decide to look into a specific matter and decide whether to follow the masses or not. And the Covid frenzy and the craze that ensued, with lockdowns as well as mandatory masks, social distancing, and so-called vaccines, contributed to a definite segregation of people resisting the mainstream and the others, who did it out of fear or convenience. I voiced out what I think of all this predicament on the field and in some of my writings. You can read my informative perspective on this topic here. I remain adamant that it should be possible to discuss any idea whether it is deemed scientific or not. As long as one does it with an open mind and respectfully, there is no harm in asking to comprehend. In fact, I believe it is the only way to reach some sort of clairvoyance...
Some quotes on science:
Science is the poetry of reality - Richard Dawkins
Science is simply the word to describe a method of organizing our curiosity - Tim Minchin
Science may set limits to knowledge, but should not set limits to imagination - Bertrand Russell
The important thing is to never stop questioning - Albert Einstein
Science does not promise absolute truth, nor does it consider that such a thing necessarily exists. Science does not even promise that everything in the universe is amenable to the scientific process - Isaac Asimov
Science is a way of thinking much more than it is a body of knowledge - Carl Sagan
Little science takes you away from God but more of it takes you to him - Louis Pasteur
I do agree that we need to rely on some benchmarks from which we start our scientific reasoning. Does it mean that these points of reference are not to be investigated? I am no scientist. And I know very little. But I do assert that my mind will constantly look for ways to connect the dots. And when the dots won't get aligned, I will search for a different path of explanation. The moment I started reading about the tremors that hit Turkey and Syria, I shared with my friends that these looked man-made. Several days on, and now several videos are circulating online to explain how HAARP works and the possibilities of a new geopolitical turmoil striking our region. Where do you think the truth lies?
