Last week, while shooting the short reel for the plumeria post, I spotted a small transluscent dude in one of the plumeria flowers.
I had to research it and try to learn the necessary to make sure my small tree is safe.
There are several types of white spiders. Like all spider species, these little creatures have 8 legs and 2 body segments, unlike the insects. Their bite contains very little amounts of venom, which makes them relatively harmless to humans. They also hunt, like their fellow spiders. While they are not especially destructive, they can free on pollinating insects. If this is a problem for you and you have noticed an infestation of such spiders, just hose those little buddies down from your plants and flowers. There is no need for any chemicals to get rid of them.
