Going through old cabinets, I stumbled upon Dead Poets Society, which is one of my favorite reads. I was transported back to my teenage years when I read the book avidly and, later on, I even watched the movie. I know, it was published after the film was released. Being a bookworm, I heard of the written version first 😜 so what is it about? A group of young boys at Elton Academy are challenged by their new English professor, Mr. Keating, to “suck the marrow out of life”. Sounds a little radical and rather expected to sprout in a very conservative, all-male, elite environment. One does not push against boundaries when they are loose, right? It was my first encounter with the concept of Carpe Diem and I really enjoyed the performance of Robin Williams as the lead to view education and life from a different perspective. A highly recommended short read I am sure you will enjoy..
