A Dash of Italy... in Mazraat Yahouch

Saturday, January 9, 2021

On the last evening, before the country went yet another time in "lockdown" mode, the girls decided to have some pizza and asked me if I would join. Needless to say, I am a fan of wood fire pizza and I can never say no to Tiramisu. So here we were, following our map directions diligently to get to Marco's place. Located in a residential area, Marco makes pizzas and Italian food as a hobby. The ambiance is very cozy and welcoming. One can see and hear a taste of Napoli. Oh, when will be able to travel again? But let's get back to our wood fire pizza dinner. Kindly note that most of our gang is vegetarian, which explains our choice of pizzas. We started by devouring the yummy little bruschetta bites, and wiped out the delectable parmigiana - honestly, I haven't had such a good one in a long time! - and then started savoring our pizzas, served one after the other. All the while, we were sipping on some Khamr red nectar and enjoying ourselves. By the fifth pizza, we were somehow starting to get full and reminded each other that we needed to keep some space in our stomachs for the long-awaited dessert... the famous Tiramisu! Served in transparent glasses, the coffee-flavored confection was really good and it was the perfect ending note to our dinner. After gorging on Marco's creations, we sat by the chimney, it was a bit fresh to sit outside, and had some nice giggles before we decided to head home. Next time, I am planning on requesting some gnocchi, tortellini, or a simple lasagna... This is definitely recommended for Italian food lovers!
