It has been a while since I published a series review. The Blacklist is a dramatic action thriller revolving around Raymond Reddington, named Red, and Elizabeth Keen, sometimes called Liz. He was a former US Navy officer turned rogue and on the most wanted list of criminals. She is a rookie FBI profiler and doesn’t know of her connection with Red and why he insisted on dealing only through/with her when he gave himself up. Red requested immunity for helping the FBI catch most wanted criminals, who are on a so-called Black List. Over the seasons, Liz will guess some of what Red is hiding from her and will also connect some clues here and there. Will she ever know the truth about her mother, Katarina Rostova? What about her father?
You can watch this series on Netflix. Take note that season 8 is not expected on the Netflix network before September 2021. Season 7 is apparently not to be watched on Netflix USA as of recently. You can still view it on Netflix Australia for example.
I had watched a couple of episodes here and there in 2015 until I decided to make use of my Netflix account in 2020, like most confined people, and started back at Episode 1 of Season 1. The intricate stories are mostly interesting and the thrill can at times be experienced acutely, especially if you watch on a large screen and have the proper sound system. You will definitely be entertained and many times surprised by the turn of things happening. Some critics compared this show to the “Silence of the lambs” and while I can see the analogies such opinions are drawn from, the features are not similar in my opinion. Enjoy the show!
