This drama series is about money heists, yes, more than one, that were thought of and planned / prepared for long in advance by “The Professor”. It is set in Madrid and originally involved entering the Mint of Spain and escaping with EUR 984 millions. Quite a sum. The idea is daring, ingenious… and the characters interesting. Each criminal is named after a city: Berlin, Rio, Tokyo, etc.

The start was promising. However, the tension quickly dropped. I only continued watching to understand the hype and the craze around the whole narrative and also to keep practicing my Spanish 😇 

The story gets a little too sentimental at times. At least for my taste. It does provide with thrills and rebounds. Not enough for me to remain glued to the screen. The fifth season that was recently launched on Netflix shows a certain chaos at the end of the outlaws. The string of luck seems to have reached an end. Or has it? The Professor is busted. The remaining gang members are stuck inside the Bank of Spain. What will happen next? Will they surrender? Will they die? Or survive?

Watch the series on Netflix if you want to find out. Get some popcorn, sit comfortably and expect some parts to be a little lengthy. Keep in mind that the second part of season 5 won’t be released before December 2021. Happy watching!
