I started watching this series a few months ago. It is entertaining and will keep you focused on the storyline from beginning to end. The viewer will empathize with the different protagonists as their personalities unfold and mature. I enjoy anime as a gorgeous outlook on life, with puns and enchanting music, and also because there is always a deeper message in manga art. In this narrative, a teenage boy, Tanjiro Kamado, is the breadwinner for his family after his father passes away. One day, he comes home to a horrific slaughter, caused by a demon. Only his sister, Nezuko, has survived. But in the process, she has turned into a demon herself. Tanjiro vows to find a way to return his sister to her human state. For years, he will train, hard and relentlessly, and finally join the Demon Slayer Corps. His adventures are depicted along the episodes and the evolution of his character is beautiful to observe. Even in the most unsettling situations, Tanjiro's heart is at peace. The young boy keeps smiling, remains as composed as can be, and always seeks to assist those who need help. The Breathing styles that he was taught were not easy to master. They show us how controlling body functions that most of us take for granted can lead us to be more symbiotic with our surroundings and hence unleash powers we normally think beyond our reach...

A sequel movie to the first 26 episodes was released in October 2020. The sequel to the first season, Demon Slayer: Mugen Train, was released by the end of 2020. Season 2 -18 episodes- came out between October 2021 and February 2022. And this year, the third season -11 episodes- has also aired. A fourth season of the "Hashira Training" has been announced. I can say I can't wait for it! The manga has sold more than 150 million copies so far and the anime have generated almost USD 9 billion. Within just a few years, the stories of the Demon Slayer have become one of the most acclaimed manga series of all time, even surpassing "Spirited Away" from Studio Ghibli (see my short review of this enchanting anime movie here), and have won multiple awards at many categories. The character of Tanjiro has long outperformed the ones of Mickey Mouse, Pokémon, and even Snoopy. And for those who like video games, you can play Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles on Playstation, X-box, and Steam. Are you still reading this post? Go start watching the series! You will definitely relish it 😉
