I am spending more time in my garden. And discovering many novelties for me! One of them is this beautifully colored fly that I friend helped me to categorize as a Chloromyia, or soldier fly. It is also sometimes called a broad centurion. These flies are present in most of Europe, the Near East, North Africa, and the Nearctic realm. However, we were not able to determine which species it belongs to. So this post goes out to my readers, asking each one of you for help to identify this good-looking insect. Is it a pest or is it harmless? What is its impact on my plants and shrubs? I am thankful for every attempt of assistance in advance
