He advocates that climate change can be reduced with technology. In "Apocalypse Never", the author claims that behind the raising anxiety about climate change slaying humans in large numbers are aspirations for power and financial interests. In the book, the writer explores the impact of "climate policies" on the people living in Congo, Brazil, or Bangladesh. Sounding the alarm is not the issue here. The problem lies in the proposed solutions. And Shellenberger suggests alternative ones in adopting a more humanistic approach. For instance, solar panels and wind turbines do not always constitute the best available fix for over-consuming natural resources. From the end of the world scenario to the concept of ravaging the environment to rescue it and all that comes in between, you will probably enjoy this interesting read, that spans several hundreds of pages with more than a hundred pages of endnotes, in the name of a more rational environmentalism.
