It's true that I once wanted to become an architect, but that ship has long sailed since. And because I have an eye for beauty and I enjoy harmony in colors and shapes, I modeled my interiors myself, from my kitchen, to my personal bathroom, and to choosing each and every item that was added to my spaces. I apparently did a good job from the various comments I have been receiving. When combining useful items within a place, as long as they are integrated with balance, that slot doesn't appear to be overwhelmingly crammed full. I am not necessarily advocating for minimalism, although it is so much more practical and peaceful to live and work in such rooms. And it's also a lot less cleaning effort! However, I for one consider that collecting books can never be considered hoarding 🤪 I have books everywhere in my home, stashed in boxes and shelves at my parents, and I still crave acquiring new ones. Nonetheless, I go over my stuff by end of each year and sort out the pieces that I haven't used in more than 2 years to be donated to charities or given to friends who might have use for them. I have read several publications and tips by Marie Kondo, the Japanese lady who is a pro in de-cluttering and clearing out locations. Since then, I fold my sheets and my clothes and store them more efficiently. I even set my frozen bags upwards in the freezer drawers because it gives me a better overview of what is in there and it's simple to take out whatever is needed without emptying half the storage out to get to the item I want. Isn't that grand? The objective of all the aforementioned is and never was to abide by a certain fashionable design that would be en vogue. It has more to do with feeling happy in one's environment. We want to keep people dear to our hearts close and stay away from the ones whose energies do not match ours. The same should apply to what things we surround ourselves with. Don't you agree?
