Top Gun: Maverick

Top Gun was a flick I had enjoyed more than thirty years ago. And I am usually reluctant to watch sequels. It just happens that many of them are quite dull. I was positively surprised to find out that Top Gun: Maverick is not one of these. Yes, the storyline was very predictable. I would almost feel bored when a twist would take place. And Tom Cruise as the lead is still playing his role very well, as a more mature still cocky version more than three decades later. He is still rebellious with a pinch of wisdom that his younger version did not have. If you enjoy light-action movies, you will surely enjoy the flying scenes. And also the soundtrack. Although the original hits are still humming in our minds...
