A few nights ago, I didn't feel like watching something serious. We ended up deciding on The Mitchells vs. The Machines ... and we didn't regret it! The film could be shortened from a few lengthy scenes. However, all in all, it's an entertaining watch.

This family movie is an animation production by SONY Pictures that was supposed to be launched in 2020 and was delayed due to Covid-19. It's a quirky, fun adventure and you are guaranteed to laugh, even if the predictable plot is about the young American girl and her family aiming at saving the world from a global robot uprising. The subject could be taken lightly, however, given current events, one cannot but draw some parallels with what is happening since the Covid frenzy was activated. For instance, humans are stripped of all their freedoms and imprisoned/isolated in boxes by PAL, the virtual assistant turned leader of the rogue machines... and those humans who are so "connected" digitally perceive the dramatic situation as being "OK" because they have WiFi. Was this a forerunner on the initiation of the Metaspace? Maybe not. Is our money fake, our food poisoned, and wars based on a bunch of lies? This flick won't answer these questions for you. Still, watch this amusing story with an open mind... and ears!
