This series was recommended by a friend. We started watching it together and... I was hooked. The Lake of the Ozarks is a real location in the USA. However, the filming didn't take place there. The story is fictitious. A money-laundering operation for a Mexican drug cartel goes amiss and their "financial advisor", Marty Byrde, to make amends, has to relocate his family from Chicago to the Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri. His wife Wendy and his children, Charlotte and Jonah, are not really thrilled. The move is done in a hurry and the Byrde family is barely settled when it gets involved with local criminals. In June 2020, a fourth and final season was announced. It will entail 14 episodes split into two parts. In general, the series has received positive reviews. I enjoyed most of it, especially being certified in anti-money laundering and financial crime investigation. If you are into crime and thrillers, the narrative sheds a light on laundering mechanisms and shows how everyday people can in reality be crooks.
