A few weeks ago, my sister recommended this watch. I was a bit reluctant. Especially, since Carlos Ghosn had declined to be interviewed for this documentary. The film starts in 1996. Renault is highly indebted and Ghosn is hired to make the French company profitable again. When he pulls it off once more with Nissan, in Japan, the man becomes a legend. This movie focuses a lot on the rise of Carlos Ghosn and much less on his downfall. It doesn't tackle any of the fraud accusations. Instead, Ghosn is presented as an individual with less than Orthodox principles. And the film ends before coming to a conclusion, on whether or not the Japanese authorities had a case or even evidence against him. The way the story was constructed may be interesting but it doesn't seem complete. Was Carlos innocent? Or is he another rich hypocrite? If you haven't followed the news of Ghosn's escape, this might show you how it was done. If you expect some clarification and details, this is not what you should be watching/reading...
