My Santa Catarina state tour wouldn't have been complete if I hadn't made a stop at Balneário Camboriú. So here I am making good use of the night I spent there by walking along the Avenida Atlântica, touring around the city, walking at the pier, and winding out with some good food at O Pharol restaurant before returning to the quite stylish hotel I was staying at. The IBIS Style is a cute stay, very clean, and the owner is a Fusca collector, hence its interior design -see photos below. The city is known as the Brazilian Dubai because of its skyscrapers and the affluence of tourists from the Americas and Europe. Its main economic activities are civil engineering, trade, and services. Its population is mostly of German descent. I was told its beaches are beautiful, one of which is the first officially designated nudist beach in Brazil, but that would require another trip to verify the information.
