Generally speaking, I am considered a pious person. But I am much more spiritual. And with the passing years and accumulated life experiences, being spiritual got easier for me. As a result, I became aware quite a while ago that being spiritual meant becoming more attentive to my state of consciousness. Being spiritual has nothing to do with what you believe. It has everything to do with your state of awareness, your connection to your inner self. I am not claiming that I am enlightened. It doesn't matter anyway. I don't really care if I am at level 7 or 11 in whatever charts people make here and there. What counts is that I explore my spirituality on my own terms and according to the way I chose to live my life. I never felt the urge to follow a "guru". I haven't visited a specific location such as India, or Bali, or traveled to the Amazon forest to be spiritual. I would rather visit these countries as a tourist to enjoy their history, culture, and food. Because as it is said, "being spiritual is a smart way to live because it means being in tune with the intelligence of the creator" (unknown author). So yes. You will find me reading and exploring other beliefs such as the Kabbalah, esoterism, mysticism, and other ways to connect beyond our limited human bodies. I don't feel the need to adhere to such perspectives. I even have an opinion on some theories and practices. My mind enjoys associating information and data to create an image/perception for me to "see". For instance, on some days, I would talk to my deceased grandma as if I was connecting to my best friend online on a different continent. Recently, after a short chat with my "tayta" (grandma in our Lebanese slang), a red dragonfly flew toward me and hovered around for a few moments before flying away. I interpreted this as a symbol of joy and freedom. Does that have a different pragmatic explanation? Probably. Do I want to stick to that clarification? Not necessarily. Because we are beings of energy too. And being connected to each other, to Earth, and to the cosmos can help us reach a higher levels of sensibility and consciousness. We just need to keep our senses open to receive. And this is when we will obtain abundantly!
